Default Milky Way Double Halo

I couldn't find any references to the halos except in ATM. So...
Scientists detect our galaxy’s double halo
I'm not sure how noteworthy this is...but it's interesting to me, and I'm sure there are those here that can comment on it.

I did find the illustration useful not.

Discussed in this thread. There is a link to the preprint. Its basically more evidence for the hierarchical cluster theory of galaxy formation.
