Default Blazars

I thought black holes didn't emit electromagnetic waves thats why we can't see them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blazar

It says that a blazar is a super massive black hole that emits energy in the form of photons, electrons, and positrons.

I believe that the Accretion disc is what emits the waves just before it's absorbed into the black hole (OF DOOM).
