Default Bad Researcher -help!

Hi there,
I am new here. I am a MA student in Sociology. You must all be wondering how I ended up on this site! I am taking a class called "Sociology of Technology". My first reading made me think of an article I read in the newspaper a few months ago, but unfortunately I can't find it anymore ops: !

I was wondering if any of you could possibly remember this story. It was in the Ottawa Citizen (in Canada) about a researcher who admitted that none of his work was true. Yep, he made up all of his astronomical findings. My reading is about issues involving replication of experiment. It would be great if I could find a copy of the article somewhere in cyberspace!

Does anyone remember the story? The name of the researcher maybe?

Thanks a bunch!
Smarties

I think his name was kilopi, but I can't remember where the article was.

Here is their website, but their search engine only goes back 14 days. You could try email to their science editor.

Google has a news search feature that might have an additional news source for the story that keeps pages longer. Try searching for 'false' or false information.

Welcome to the Board smarites!

I did a search containing "astronomer" and "falsified data" and could not find anything recent. And absolutely nothing related to a Canadian astronomer. Is there a chance that the article in the Citizen was referring to other incidents that occured in Britain and elsewhere?

I tried various searches and couldn't find a match in astronomy.

By the way kilopi,
Sorry for the shot in the earlier post, but I couldn't resist. I hope you weren't too offended.

smarties,
kilopi is one of the best. Heed his wisdom and you will do well.

LOL #-o That's why I couldn't find the that Kipilopi guy ah ah. The astronomer may not be Canadian, and you are very right, he may not even be an astronomer #-o (again!). I took a look at the articles. Whether or not that's the same scientist I had in mind, they are great. I will use them

Thanks group for your help !
