Question Your Name As The Discoverer Of What?

What Solar System or interstellar object would you like named after you, being the discoverer of such an object?

Myself - A periodic comet Mr Q

You sound like a candidate for space cremation!

I would like to have a Titan desert named after me. Sand indeed!

The alien civilization that wipes us out because I insulted their king. If only one human is to be remembered it might as well be me.

I'm a little late to be the discoverer, but I'll be modest and take the sun.

It's not there anymore. It was pushed over the edge by a rouge gravity wave. Don't ask me how I know. It's "above top secret". Mr Q

Goes a bit against an object yet to be discovered but the universe itself, the primary engine or drive used to travel about space, the name of a united space system, or if they do exist then the worm hole or alternate universe.

Default Asteriod Girard

Asteroid named by the IAU in honor of Terry Girard

An asteroid has been named GIRARD by the IAU in honor of Terry Girard's numerous and significant contributions to Astrometry and the Southern Proper Motion survey. Asteroid GIRARD = 10450 = 1967 JQ was discovered in 1967 and is about 10 km in diameter.

Terry is an astrometricist at Yale - close friend of a close friend; and an all around great guy. He often visits this forum and sometimes contributes.

Way to go Terry!
