I'm in no hurry. I'll wait for an official announcement (if any).

why is it that whenever there is something big discovered out there somewhere, they can't just come out the next day after it's confirmed and say "hey, look what we found. cool, huh?"
they always seem to stretch it out, and there always seems to be vague leaks that leads to speculation about just what the big deal is.
it's almost like they are trying to build the suspense and get some mainstream coverage of it....

Maybe it will be another "twin Earth" like Gliese 581c.

Since Greg Laughlin is associated with the radial velocity based planet searches and the discovery of another Gliese 581c-sized orb would be significant though not major (because we already know such worlds exist), I think it is likely that his team will announce the discovery of a planet (found by RV) slightly smaller than the Gliese 581c planet but slightly larger than Earth e.g. perhaps a 2-4 Earth mass planet.

Greg is just getting all of his ducks in a row first.

Here's the original post.
