Must be global warming on Jupitor

WASHINGTON — Jupiter has a new freckle – a third red spot much smaller than the well-known Great Red Spot and a newer one dubbed Red Spot Jr.

The heat for Jupiter's storms is generated internally. So perhaps there are hotspots or upwellings of heat, so that the heat does not reach the clouds uniformly?

Default New Red Spot on Jupiter.

"Increased turbulence and storms first observed on Jupiter more than two years ago are still raging, according to astronomers from the University of California, Berkeley, and the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii, who snapped high-resolution pictures of the planet earlier this month."

You're new to BAUT, so you're probably unfamiliar with the conventions. This section is for astronomy and science questions. Is there a question? If not, there is already a thread on this:

Red spot Jr.
