Default Just when we thought it was safe to get excited!!!

In the quiet situe of a small marketplace cafe I sit, awaiting on a takeout dinner, I stumbled across the Daily Telegraph. Flicking through the pages, I sat there, hoping to find something about the recent mars landing.. And find I did.. As im sure many people have seen this also, what appeared to be a a picture of the mars surface with a footprint on it.. I couldnt believe my eyes, to what looked like a yeti footprint! All kinds of things began running through my head about this new discovery.. Anyway, later in the day at work during a break I decided to search the internet for more information on this finding.. And again, find I did, a picture of the same footprint but at a different angle, and the caption "Image of a footprint found on mars left by the robotic arm of the phoenix".. Completely and utterly gutted I was.. the papers neglect to tell such things, damn them!!

Not really a good thing to stumble across.

Do you have a link, I'd be interested to see thier take on the story. Especially since they did carry the bigfoot on Mars story recently.

You mean one source wasn't enough? (In other words, good for you)

Again; different context is easier to relate to with a link.

I'm not quite sure which you're referring to, but I have given up on any one media source giving me all the information anyway.

You should have listened to your eyes. They sound as if they possess a certain wisdom based on experience.

That's about the time your skeptical sense, your critical thinking skills, should have kicked in and posed, "How likely is that to be a yeti footprint on Mars? I'll need more than one snapshot to convince me of anything like that!"

I'm glad you finally got the whole story. Yes, it was just happenstance that caused a Phoenix scoop operation, because of the slope of the ground, to produce a hole that many considered to be foot-shaped -- but not the impression of a foot. (The Phoenix team even named the little site "Yeti" when they saw what the scoop had done.)

May your next similar experience be a discovery of fact and fill you with warm feelings for the marvel of science.

Must be talking about this image.

It's actually a southern bigfoot, commonly found in the swamps of east Texas and southern Louisianna.

You put your right pad in,
you put your right pad out,
you put your arm scoop in,
and you shake the dirt about...
