Could exo-planets be detectable as a result of a star going super-nova?
Could exo-planets be detectable as a result of a star going super-nova? Would certain elements show up as a result of being vaporized in a nova? How would you know what is normal and what is not normal?

1) No planet contains elements that are not found in the star it orbits.
2) Even Jupiter is only about 1/1000 the mass of the Sun. => Any bump in the spectrum of the SN would be completely undetectable.
