Just thought some good ole' space eye candy would be nice! :wink:



- A nice Sun Trail!

- Earth's two moons, the MIR and the Moon (from 1998)

Where did you get the first one? I think that's a composition. You couldn't get a starfield like that without a couple of hours of tracking and that would leave the ground blurred severely.

I got it from APOTD, and i believe they said that the camera was going counter-rotational or something, where the camera went opposite the Earth's rotation, or something like that... :-?

That's what all cameras would do to track the celestial sphere. But that would leave the foreground blurred. I think that in this case, it's has been composited into the picture.

BTW, forgot to mention that the Mir one and the suntrail one are excellent.

I guess it is composition - this version looks even more fake.

Can somebody help me find a bigger version of the picture in the background (sagittarius? the center of the milky way)? I's like to use it as my Deskop wallpaper, but can't find it anywere big enough on the web.
