Ok. According to CNN, we have a lunar eclipse coming up this Sat. (nov. 8). Fine and dandy! But, at the end of the article, they mention that there will also be a total solar eclipse on Nov. 28 (viewable only in Antartica).
My question is, with a 28 day lunar cycle, how is it that there's 20 days between the lunar eclipse and the solar eclipse this month??? Shouldn't it be more like 14???

I found the CNN story: http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/1....ap/index.html
Indeed, they claim the solar eclipse in on Novemeber 28. They are wrong...the solar eclipse over Antarctica is November 23, 2003. Edited to add: I contacted CNN.com to notify them of the error. Eric |
