Does anyone know where I can find a fair-to-decent list of colliding galaxies found in the Northern Hemisphere's Spring-Summer skies? I'm trying to write a research proposal dealing with colliding galaxies (i'll be observing in June) and I need at least 6; at the moment I have 3 and one of them i'm not even sure I'll be able to use (The Antennae, I know it's in Corvus, which is a southern hemisphere constellation but it was recommended to me by they guy who I'm writing the proposal for so I'm trusting that he knows where it is and thinks it's still usable...anyone have any input?) I'm really not 100% on the others either (trying to figure out what's visible and what's not just on RA and Dec has never been my thing) which are Stephan's Quintet and the Mice if anyone knows anything about either of those. Anyways, I was just wondering if you guys knew any good candidates that I could use or if you knew where i could find a few good candidates (also if you happen to know if this one's i've got are usable or not i'd be very much appreciative!!!!)

I always thought they should be called Colloiding Galaxies. Since there are not many actual mass on mass collisions. It's more a massive ballet of interating gravity fields. It's a gigantic fraternity tug of war.

Wow, that certianly looks like an evil galaxy alright.

I am sure you know that our own galxy is colliding with at least two dwarf galaxies;
the Sagittarius Dwarf and the Canis Major dwarf;

we are not suffering any ill effects, although any inhabitants of these two galaxies might be somewhat more aware of the situation.
