Great moon pictures-are these raw images or was there some processing?

For moon shots I personally always convert to grey scale -just what one is used to I suppose

I like your moon images Martin. The last image you posted, and which you are not sure of the area, is in the south-east Vallis Rheita region.

The crater in the bottom right is Rheita with the Vallis Rheita immediately above it. Then you have Metius with small Metius B just inside its rim. Fabricus is next and there is a small rill extending out of it. The big depression Fabricus lies in is the walled plain Janssen with various small craters inside it. The two circular steep-walled craters are Steinheil and Watt. The crater near the top with the two-summitted mountain in the middle of it is Vlacq.

I use a piece of software called Virtual Moon Atlas which can be downloaded, for free, here http://www.astrosurf.com/avl/UK_download.html

Hope this helps.

Eric

Greyscale often looks a bit better, though colour can show another side of the moon which we don't usually see: some colour. As almost all photos ARE in greyscale and we are often left with no colour alternative.
