Comet C/2004 Q2 Machholz imaged New Years Eve amid loud audacious fireworks from the surrounding neighborhood.

ST-2K + MiniBorg60
60 x 30 sec sub frames aligned on comet head.

Dust tail pointing to upper left
Ion tail pointing toward bottom center.

Comet is moving fast.

This is an easy target to find with binocualrs or the finder scope on your telsecope. Any size should work well.
