Hi guys.

Here's a partial mosaic of the moon that I got around to processing and stitching together the other day.

I took the avi's on the 1st Feb 2005, and wasn't really intending to do a mosaic at the time, so that's why there's so many pieces missing (ie: more than 50% of the moon ).

I figure that when the individual avi's aren't exciting enough on their own, I may as well practise my mosaic technique.

I *know* that the stitching is evident in the fullsize version, and I know that some pieces are slightly different in contrast/brightness, but i'm not fussed about it because this was just practising technique, since I didn't have enough avi's for the whole disc. I just didn't have time to adjust each one to look the same at this stage. I also think I may have adjusted settings between some of the captures as well, my memory fades quickly

These are taken with my 10" dob (no tracking) and ToUcam at 2500mm FL (with 2x barlow), I think the capture settings were 1/250s shutter speed.

Below is the full reduced shot.

Mike

what software did you use for the mosaic? Imerge is pretty handy for mosaics and can be downloaded from

http://www.geocities.com/jgroveuk/iMerge.html

if you don't already have it...

greatly simplifies the job

I just used PS, changed each layer to 50% opacity and moved them around to line them up.
I'll check out iMerge, thanks.
