Hi guys.
I've finally written a how-to guide for dob-based astrophotography. It's been something i've been meaning to write for a while now, and over the last few weeks i've finally finished it off. Here's a teaser: Quote:
Astrophotography with a Dob Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome.

Hi Iceman,
It is a very good article, I enjoyed it very much, it is a collection of hints and recomendations gained by a great effort and deterrmination, anyone who tried those things will know what I am talking about :-) However, I have only one comment though: all that you said about limitations basically applies to simple, unmotorized Dobsonian mount.... My Newtonian is motorized ("bartellized"), but it is still a Dobson :-) So, for all of you guys who may think that Dobson mount is not a good telescope to start with, because of limitations described in this article, have a look at: http://www.bbastrodesigns.com/cot/cot.html Best regards, Bojan |

Hi Bojan.
Thanks for your comments. You are correct, the limitations, and the subject of the article, are for undriven dobsonians. If you have a driven dob, or a tracking platform, most of the problems go away and half the article is not relevant. Most newbies own undriven dobs so the article is mainly directed at them, and hopefully inspire some of them to try their hand at astrophotography if they've always wanted to have a go.
