Hey guys.

Watching the moon swim and change shape in bad seeing is quite interesting.. except when you want nice crisp views and nice crisp images.

Here's a couple of luna shots in very ordinary seeing..

Details:
Scope: 10" dob without tracking
Seeing: 3.5/10
Transparency: 6.5/10
Capture: ToUcam 10fps, 1/50s, 0 gain, 0 gamma, 95% saturation
FL: ~3100mm, using 2.4x barlow pulled out and ToUcam pulled out
Processing: 1-2 frames stacked, photoshop filters and contrast/levels adjust

Pretty disappointed with them because they're just not as sharp as I'd like, but the seeing was just too bad..

Clavius - This is a single frame as there were no sharp frames to stack.

Mercator, Campanus and Kies - This is a stack of a couple of frames. Check this region in Chuck Wood's latest article in S&T "Bumps on the Moon".. obviously my image is not high enough resolution or sharp enough to really compare to the magazine shot, but anyway..

Thanks for looking.

Both very good efforts iceman. I especially like the one of Clavius, it's very good.
