Hey guys.
Watching the moon swim and change shape in bad seeing is quite interesting.. except when you want nice crisp views and nice crisp images. Here's a couple of luna shots in very ordinary seeing.. Details: Scope: 10" dob without tracking Seeing: 3.5/10 Transparency: 6.5/10 Capture: ToUcam 10fps, 1/50s, 0 gain, 0 gamma, 95% saturation FL: ~3100mm, using 2.4x barlow pulled out and ToUcam pulled out Processing: 1-2 frames stacked, photoshop filters and contrast/levels adjust Pretty disappointed with them because they're just not as sharp as I'd like, but the seeing was just too bad.. Clavius - This is a single frame as there were no sharp frames to stack. ![]() Mercator, Campanus and Kies - This is a stack of a couple of frames. Check this region in Chuck Wood's latest article in S&T "Bumps on the Moon".. obviously my image is not high enough resolution or sharp enough to really compare to the magazine shot, but anyway.. ![]() Thanks for looking.
