I have been trying to take photographs of the stars since I bought my first digital SLR just over a year ago but it always eluded me. The other night I managed to take this from the top of the Rhigos mountain
Treherbert Rhondda South Wales UK
30 sec exposure F/4.5 ISO 100 focal length 34mm at appx 23:30hrs

Sagittarius Star Cloud. Shot with my Canon 350D on a tripod in Maricopa, AZ. I think it was like a 10 sec shot at ISO1600. Cleaned up in Photoshop.

Your Sagittarius star cloud image is very nice. If that is really only 10 seconds of exposure, that came out rather well.

If you stack a bunch of those shots with a tool such as Registax, the stars and background signal can be built up into a very professional image.
