Hi guys.

Finally got around to processing the widefield shots I took at our dark sky site on the 9th July. These were taken with my Sony Cybershot 5.1mp digicam, sitting on top of a tripod, which was sitting on top of my EQ platform.

They are the result of 4-5 images each @30s each (ISO400), registered and combined in registar, and then processed in photoshop. I added some mouse-over labels as well, so be sure to go to the fullsize version and move your mouse on/off the image (they might take a second or 2 to load).

The image shown below is the preview version, click on each image to go the full size version (220k) where you'll see the mouse-overs.

Thank you so much for sharing these shots! I have never seen the southern sky, and I appreciate the roll-over images!

Thanks!

Thanks all for your nice comments.

I love widefield astrophotography, it really puts into perspective that we're in the middle of a galaxy.
