Can someone please tell me how to do something similar with my digi cam? Is it a matter of setting the cam on its own tri pod and se tthe exposure times aiming at the sky? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Ozzmosis, Shudoshi
The SLR types of digital cameras have a 'bulb' setting allowing any long exposure, but noise increases unless you spread the exposure over several frames and stack the prints with something like IRIS

And otherwise, Shudoshi, Yes
