23 Oct Moon
Hi everyone, my first post. The learning curve for astrophotography is pretty steep, and I am taking it one step at a time. Starting with the moon, this morning I finally got execellent seeing and transparency along with at last getting focus correct. The attached photo was obtained as follows:
Nikon Coolpix 995 and Meade 10" Newtonion, 18mm Scopetronic eyepiece. Camera settings: ASA 200, f3.3, 1/125 sec, 7 shots stacked in Registak and final tweeking in Photoshop 7 with contrast adjustments and a true unsharp mask applied.
This is my best effort thus far and I hope is the start of equaling some of the great photos I have seen here.
Clear Skies everyone,
J.P. Morgan
