to look the sun from the far distance is a great circus, our eyes are just narrows to look at the sun, have you any such images which are too close of the sun, since i am interesting in viewing the sun's images.

Close enough for you? APOD has a few more sun shots too if you care to search.

That reminded me of this (similar) image.

Though not as "close-up", of my favorites in recent memory is this hybrid image taken by Stefan Seip, combining Hydrogen alpha and Calcium K wavelengths. Great stuff.

funtastic one wolverine, that's a great movie links, the sun has a sort of golden glaze on to it, my eyes were just raised on the sun in this movie and really this drop a fine impact of getting knowledge through it, the scientist and the makers of this movies are really great personalities on the earth and commedable.

thanks arora, your nick name has a true sense and looking related with "sun".

Greg Piepol recently posted another interesting take on solar images in H-alpha and CaK at http://www.sungazer.net/013006.html

that's fine Candy, when I asked to my nephew at mumbai, that from where he got or attached the image, he replied : he don't know or he has forgot".

but anyway the idea of such photo is marvelous one and rare one, is it true Candy ? even I don't know that image is fake one or just double printed on the sun's poster or photo, i really really don't know, but enjoy the photo.

Happy Decade EIT! Looks like some interesting things will be happening in 2008.

Wolverine, did you see Stefan Seip's Hydrogen-Alpha Ring Oct. 3, 2005 (top right in the Sun section) in the January Sky & Telescope? It looks more vivid in the magazine--great photo. Too bad he hasn't been back here lately...an excellent photographer.

That's a fine link, ToSeek.

Iceman, nice sunspots. I hate to say that I always think sunspots look like pictures of melanoma, but they do. Considering my avatar, I don't mean to be silly.

I'm tired of fake photos going around the net--I got that one above a few weeks ago. Snopes is so useful, but they're not needed here. Very pretty, and very fake. A shame...there are so many beautiful real photos to pass around.

Go SOHO.

I'm always visiting, just not always posting (there's a lot I don't know, don't always want to sound clueless). Too, intelligent design has worn me out; the BA's blog gets me fired up and I end up reading 200 or so posts, then the links!

The Astrophotography section relaxes me...I love seeing people's photos from around the world-their views, their style. It's a vicarious hobby. I see all the photos here.

Salud!

Thanks Melusine for taking interest, I have enjoyed the images you have shown in the link.

at one morning I was on the terrace and captured one photo which was just back of the street light, what happened at that time, when i was taking that photo, the street light get off, and Sun was "on" on the horizon.

in this image sun is on far distance and rest image is full of black, it was just like the gold is spreading on the black carpet.

enjoy the photo ( no man is there)
