Default Penumbral Lunar Eclispe from Chicago...

Penumbral Eclipse observed from Chicago

Fellow Astronomers,

I thought I would share my photo of the Lunar eclipse of the 14th of March 2006 with the BAUT crew. It was a cold Chicago evening, but this nice shot came out of it, capturing a small twin engine aircraft transiting the lunar face.

Taken with a modest 4.5" reflector and hand held digital camera.
The full account of the session and more pics can be found here at The Chicago Astronomer:

Respectfully,

Wow. I'd like to express my true opinion, but the Mods would get me banned for swearing. That is an awesome shot. One of the better ones I've ever seen.

I look forward to your pics from the next total lunar eclipse (2007 I think.....).

Excellent material. Chicago rocks! Hey, that's my sister's plane coming in from Philadelphia! Well what do you know!
