Nice photos, Sasome, and welcome! I especially like the one you chose for your avatar. Industrial photography can be beautiful, too, and highlight electromagnetic radiation.

*As kids, when we travelled by car at night, I thought the high-tension- wire towers looked liked Godzillas, or so I imagined.

I really want to get a telescope and learn more about astronomy but here in London the light pollution is a killer. Are there any good introductory books that you can recommend for Astronomy and astrophotography?

Also I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this or if anyone’s interested but the BBC have put “The Sky at Night” online. You can watch all the episodes way back from December 2001 to the most recent. Check out:

For visual astronomy, Turn Left at Orion is a staple that would be included with every first time telescope sale in a perfect world. It's a collection of some of the best objects in the sky as seen from the rooftops in New York City, and for the fainter ones, the "wilds" of Long Island. They include sketches of how each would look in a 2 to 4 inch scope.
