Default Waxing Moon and double star

On August 1, I received my green laser pointer and could not wait till dark to calibrate it on my homemade dob to help me find the things I want to look at. It was a day before first quarter moon and still dusk but I could get the moon in the eyepiece and fixed the glp in position. I also took this pleasing shot of the waxing moon.
While I was at it, I pointed my scope at the most famous double star in our part of the world, Alpha Centauri. Seeing was good and I took a pic showing the resolution of my Dob. The image is slightly defocused.
Thanks for looking

Phil

I like the view of the terminator.

yep, thats one of the best times of the month to image the moon. The terminator really shows contrast.

Thanks for the Alpha Centauri pic. I've never seen them before.
