Default HorseHead HaRGB - my 28 hours attempt

Dear all,

after 3 nights of sampling color and using the 8 nights of luminance data already done, I decide to finalize my image on this subject. All the images are taken from my strong polluted backyard in Rome (Italy).

The data:
Vixen Visac f/9 on Celestron CGE
SBIG ST10 XME with CFW-8A
Ha:61x20min bin1x1 (13nm)
R: 13x10min bin1x1
G: 13x8min bin1x1
B: 13x18min bin1x1

Total exposition length 28 hours.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Filippo

Dude, that has to be the best HorseHead ever done on this forum that I've ever seen. Amazingly brilliant shot.

Filippo,

Great image. Just goes to show that with patience and hard work, light pollution can be overcome.

Filippo, really spectacular shot! Absolutely beautiful. I can't believe you get that from Rome.

Filippo,
Absolutely brilliant!!! Very, very professional.
Thanks for sharing. By the way, your name means "lover of horses". As they say in the USA, "That figures"!!

Dears,

thank you so much for all your kind comments.

Right, Filippo = Philos Ippos = Horse Friend. I never think about it during the cold nights in which I took the HorseHead, next time could be very useful. Thanks you for this suggestion too.

Filippo.

OK so I went out last night and took 9 minutes of this thing at ISO1600 at the prime focus of an 8" SCT and I got the stars and nothing else at all. No swathes of glowing hydrogen. No horsehead-shaped cloud of dust. Absolutely, utterly nothing. So now I am even more amazed.
