Default Rupes Recta in the Mare Nubium

Imaging the Rupes Recta or "Straight Wall" in the South East of the Mare Nubium, is a popular target with amateur astronomers. Seeing must be very good to obtain a decent image. Paul Campbell has an excellent example in one of his mosaics (see: Moon mosaic photos)
I was fortunate last night to get decent images of this area.
The collage on the left was from a single afocal image of the moon 1 day after last quarter. The image on the right is a 3x optical zoom of that area with my digital camera. One day after first quarter the sun shines on the Rupes from the other side casting a wide shadow not seen here of course. The Rupes is a fault and is 110 km long and 240 - 300 meters high.

Very cool. Do you shoot through the eye piece? I love the color. Any filters?

Yes, Mike, I shoot through the eyepiece. In this case I did not use a filter but I did for the full moon.
