Here is a shot a got just before the new year of NGC 2419, The Intergalactic Wanderer, a globular cluster in Lynx. I was looking for targets that might work well in an almost full Moon, and this turned out OK. The two stars in the lower right quadrant look bloated because they are very bright and there was flare in the image. I haven't found a good way to get rid of it in Photoshop.
It is 100 minutes of total exposure. I used all the frames (luminance and RGB) to make a luminance image which I guess counts for 50 minutes of luminance (assuming that the sum of the RGB exposures equal 1 luminance exposure). All sub-exposures were 5 minutes. It was processed in Maxim DL, CCDStack, and Photoshop, with final noise reduction from PixInsight LE. It was taken with a C-11 on a CGE mount with an ST-10. Guiding was done with an AO-7. A full resolution image is on my web site. Thanks for looking and clear skies! --Andy

Hi Andy.
I thought I would give your photo a try. I used photoshop 9.0 and Photofilter to remove the flare ups in the photo. It took away some of the faint Stars though. later Paul |
