Default M1

hi folks,

I`d like to post my M1 for this season.
actually it is my first attempt with my 9" Tmb Apo!
seeing was quite good! 2" FWHM, transparency rather good: 6m0

data on the image:
titel: M1
observatory site: stargazer private observatory - Mühlviertel near Linz, Austria, Europe
date: December 2006 - final processing completed today...
scope: 9" Tmb Apo f/9 @f/7 (TeleVue 0,8 reducer)
Camera: CCD: SXV H9C
exposure time: 3 hours
software: image acquisition, colorconversion and stacking (sigma combine) in AstroArt4
postprocessing: PS CS2 (multilayer) and PixIS - LE (masks fpr smoothing the background)

here we are:

full size:

enlarged crop:

thanks for looking!
I hope You like it so much as I do - I must admit - I`m very happy that my 9" scope "sees" the blue-green haze around the nebula`s edges...

best regards
DIetmar

Very nice indeed.

I'm not sure what a 9" Tmb Apo is. What is it? How much does one cost? Is it portable?

I think you're saying you used a total exposure time of 3 hours but also that you've stacked the images? How long was each exposure?

hi Clop.

a 9" TMB Apo is 9 inch triple apochromat with a focal length of 2050 mm.
please take a look here:
http://stargazer.christelhager.info/teleskope01.htm

it is definately NOT transportable - too large too heavy.
and it is expensive,...very expensive...
take a look here:
http://stargazer.christelhager.info/vendors.htm
klick on APM...

thanks for Your interest
Dietmar

Looked at the TMB site. I'd be SCARED to move it.

But given the results you are showing, it sure looks like it was worth it.

Beautiful photos.
