Default R Leporis - A Really Red Variable Star in Lepus

Hi All,

Here is a shot of R Leporis - A Really Red Variable Star in the constellation of Lepus. You can find it below the constellation of Orion.

RA = 04h59m36.7s DEC = -14d 48m 22s
R Leporis is a Mira Type Variable.
It varies in brightness from mag 5.5 to 11.7 over a 427 day period.

I captured this image on 2/3/07 (its the obvious RED/Orange star at center)
Areo 5 - 10" F4 Takahashi scope, and ST8 CD camera.
for a 8 Minute exposure.

It appears even more intense visually, take a look through any small scope and you'll see what I mean.

The photo does not do it justice, you got to see it visually for yourself, WOW!
