Thumbs up Another Saturn shot.

Many months of waiting for clear and stable skies here in Seattle. Finally, spring is slowly arriving, and I can still grab a few shots of Saturn before it gets low in the gunky stuff. Here is one from late last month. Colors are kind of odd. I'm not sure what is going on with my Vesta Pro webcam, lately I've had trouble getting much color out of it. Then my slight red/green colorblindness makes things even worse! Oh well, I just have to ask the girlfriend to edit my work.

Hi Tegwilym, Great shot but i believe you submitted a picture from last year due to its ring position and of course the info on the pic. Clear Skies

I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of tweaking the image a bit in Pix Insight.
  1. Adjusted the color balance with histogram adjustments, moving the middle point.
  2. Sharpened using A'trous Wavelet transform: 1:0.4, 2: 0.2, 3:0.1
  3. Tweaked the color again with the histogram
  4. Slightly changed the contrast with curve
  5. Did noise reduction (default) in GREYCstoration

Oops! You are right. That is an old one. I grabbed the wrong image off the hard drive.

Thank Andy.
That is definitely an improvement over my screwed up coloring!

How many Saturns are there and why do people keep shooting them

Lots of them! Good, bad, blurry, purple, green, noisy, cloudy, light polluted....
Just ask, and we can show you anything you request! Hehe.

Nice pic!

If only Saturn were that large in my telescope (it's my favorite planet).

Glad to hear that you've had some clear skies.

Wish I could get one a tenth as good as yours.
