Default A fresh look at NGC1333

I have always thought NGC1333 was a pretty cool looking object but I have never imaged it thinking my system has too short of a focal length. This object as seen through the eyes of an RC is very impressive. I thought I'd shoot it this past week to see what I got and guess what -- I got dust! It seems that almost everywhere I point my scope I get images of dust. There's NGC1333 as pretty as ever but surrounded by very faint clouds of dust.

The dust itself has some pretty interesting colors and details.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Best,
Tom

Astonishing as always.

One comment and one question:

I think you'd get less dust if you weren't imaging so many star forming regions. Not that I'm complaining...

Also: what is your typical seeing like, and what are the full-width, half-max of your images? If you don't mind me asking.

Beautiful dirt. Only farmers and astronomers appreciate it along with most small kids of course.

I took it last year and thought the image fogged. I worked like heck to get rid of it. Finally tossed it as a loss. Now I have to do it all over again and process it for that multiple "gradient".

I didn't have enough time anyway.

FWHM over the course of multiple nights varied from 2.1 to 3.8. I live under the perpetual sub polar jet stream.

Wow. It's beautiful. It's like some sort of fantasy thing. A bit dusty though...
