Default NGC 6906, a piece of Cygnus Loop

Hi everyone,

I just finished an image of the Veil and some of the surrounding nebulosity and wanted to share it. I found the area in the lower left corner intriguing, particulary the wispy strands of gas at the shock wave interface.

The image can be seen at:

Image and write up can be seen at:

Thanks for taking a look.

Sincerely,
Kent

Beautiful. I've had trouble with stars when combining RGB with H-alpha. You've done a great job.

Kent,

That's an amazing image. Great color, great definition in the nebula. Wow.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. This was a very enjoyable project. My first attempt with Ha and I was amazed at the signal that shows up with these narrow band filters.

Take care,
Kent

I concur, the detail at the fillaments is breathtaking. The stunning background field only compliments this wonderful shot. By the way your Blog link is an absolute treasure chest. Thanks for sharing

Kind regards,
Matt
