Arrow Venus + Jupiter Conjunction - 31st Jan + 3rd Feb

Hi all

Despite non-stop cloud for days and nights, I was lucky enough to have a very small window before dawn to capture the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on the 31st Jan and this morning 3rd Feb.

The luck didn't continue today for when the moon joined the show, i'm hoping I'll get a break for tomorrow morning but it's not looking promising.

There's 5 images in total below - 3 from the 31st (taken at Woy Woy on the Central Coast of NSW) and 2 from the 3rd (taken at The Entrance Ocean Baths on the Central Coast of NSW).

All taken with Canon 350D + Sigma 17-70mm lens on a fixed tripod.

Thanks for looking.

Better skies than I had, nothing but clouds but then I can't see that low to the east without walking a half mile across the lake. Not easy with it covered with 2 feet of snow to wade through. Have to follow a long route ice fisherman have cleared making it a two mile hike in -20C temps. With the clouds I didn't have to decide to try or not.

I'll just see it on your great shots. Dawn and clouds make for very nice images.

Rick

Mike,

Great stuff. It is very pretty to see the conjunction amidst the clouds.

Spectacular shots, Mike. Thanks for posting. I was lucky this morning and had a clear sky when the moon joined the party.
