Default Jupiter 9 April 1917UT

Seeing was around 5/10 and not really that stable, fluctuating quite a lot, but it is nice to finally have an image for this apparition and data to work with. I have included a copy of my red channel, so you can image what the other two channels looked like.

Of interest in the image is the GRS and Red junior approaching each other and of course some of the newer spots that have appeared just above the SEB. There are some interesting patterns of ovals eminating from the SEB and GRS zone which can be see faintly on the boundary of this area.

Should be an interesting apparition once again.

Taken with my Peltier cooled C14 and skynyx2 at 33 fps and 2x TV barlow.

Also the Neb looks to be undergoing yet another revival from last years event and this should produce some interesting results.

Very nice Jupiter shots. Great detail in the clouds and excellent color balance.

Nice images, the elevation really helps alleviate the mediocre seeing.

Hi Paul. Your photos of Jupiter are very nice, and as Andy said the colors are true and the cloud cover looks great. Well done.. Clear skies to you Paul.

A lovely shot and yes, some very noticeable changes from last year even to my untrained eye.

Kind regards
Matt
