All:
I finally processed the RGB data taken the last week of March, and added to the Lum/Ha on NGC2174, commonly called the Monkey's Head nebula. The photo also includes clusters NGC2175 & 2175s, the reflection nebula IC2159 near the center, and several (dozens) other minor objects. A larger version is on the website (linked to the photo on the "New Photos" page). I still have 3 or 4 more images to process, hopefully, I get then posted this spring/summer. All:
Appreciate the comments. I typically do all exposures binned, or unbinned so that there isn't as much difference between star sizes on lum vs RGB. This time I went unbinned on lum/Ha and binned 2 X 2 on RGB. This resulted in significant dissparity in star sizes between the processed lum, and the RGB, hence, doughnuts around many stars on the final LRGB. I need to reprocess this, to get rid of the doughnuts, but until then... Robert |
