Default M3

hi folks,

in two nights I imaged M3, which is such a beautiful cluster!
tight though and therfor tough to process, it is so cute to see the center split in the TMB scope.

one night granted very nice conditions; the second one, when I did the colors was very windy and seeing was bad.

Since I wanted to have a nice FOV I decided to image with the 5" f/9 TMB SApo, which was a good idea, as seeing was so bad the second night, I could not have guided for 2050mm FL.
I wanted to do the colors in 1x1,...but I should have decided differently...seeing,...exposure time...f/9 is quite s l o w.

please find all data and images on my website:

thanks for taking a look.
your comments are appreciated.

best regards,
Dietmar

Beautiful. I sure don't see that bad seeing you mention. Fortunately poor seeing doesn't hurt color much. Colors seem very good to me.

I've tried this one for three years but seeing has killed my effort every time. I had a few nights of good seeing but now with fronts coming through daily I don't have a chance. Snowed last night, today it is 12C.

thanks Rick!
You are right, bad seeing does not hurt the colors, only my nerves during autoguiding...(-:

It is a beautiful crisp image. Yes the colours are splendid too with the full range of star colours. Well chosen on the focal length as the field appears to compliment the object well. It reminds me of Omega Centauri only more delicate. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot, poor seeing or not. The smaller scope FOV worked well on this one.
