Nice. The two bright lines in the upper left are Merak and Dubhe, beta and alpha Ursae Majoris, and the image is not reversed, so you captured the image around 8PM?

Default Star trails Southern Sky

Very nice.

Here is a photo of the star trail from the southern sky. 25 shots, 15 seconds each with a Canon Powershot a530 in 20 minutes. The Cruz constellation is on top.

Default star trails derotated

Look at my recent posting of the same pictures, but this time derotated and stacked using IRIS. Not much Galactic Plane visible either in that direction.

Southern Sky with PS a530

But stars to +9 are becomong visible. The stars +5 and brighter have colors consistent with the star classification, Mstars are red. This is a curious, but very nice, artifact of the interaction between the color correction of the lens and the automatic in-camera white balance algorithm.
