Default Veil Network Nebula NGC6992 NICE!

Hi All,

Here is my latest test shot of the Veil Network Nebula NGC6992.

I left it a decent res/size(746K so it may load slower than usual) so you can scroll around the nebula to see the detail captured with such a small scope and short exposure.
Just double click or right click the image to view the whole thing and click again to zoom in with your browser.

It's only a 10 minute shot!!! Just Amazing what this little camera can do!
I personally think the Modified Rebel XSI and 40D are the most sensitive/clean DSLR camera yet for this type of work!

I took this from my Observatories last night(tuesday) just before the moon came up, actually the last frame got some moonlight in it. I managed to process most of it out.

I took 3 short shots at ISO 400, two 4 minute shots, a 2 minute shot, before the moon and high cirrus interfered.
No LPR filter was used this time. 10 minute total exposure time.

The Three frames were
Calibrated with a single 4 minute dark frame(autoscaled), processed in Nebulosity and Adobe PS.

I am very happy with my modified Rebel XSI and Coma Corrected 5" Vixen Newt Scope, I fixed my G-11 worm PE, (some worm bearings were loose causing problems.)

Installing a new 2" Moonlite focuser and a coma-corrector really helped,
and autoguiding with my ST5 attached to a 4" F15 SCT, instead of my little WO 66mm, this really helped in finding brighter guide Stars.

Finally got most of the serious issues taken care of...now I can start seriously shooting again. (I was out of commision for a month or two and could not shoot due a to a vehicle break-in and theft of all my cameras and Laptop!!! Really Sucked!)

I also did test shots of M57 and a few others targets, but haven't had time to process those yet.

Veil Network Nebula NGC6992 a 10 minute exposure with a modified Canon Rebel XSi and 5" Vixen Newt.

I know I need to go longer exposures, but this was a quick test!

Too large to post here....but here is the link,

Nice colorful shot, and good job on fixing the background.
