Default Jupiter Movie

Even with a broken corrector plate, I still managed to squeeze this out of the scope. A capture of Ganymede transiting Jupiter.

Enjoy it folks.

Baz.

The broken corrector plate did not stop you from obtaining a great video of Jupiter. Nice job! You have a great site as well, I spent some time looking around and I added your site to my list of favorite.

Nice work on the time lapse. Dare I ask what happened to the corrector?

Hi Mahesh and thanks mate. The project went fine. It is published here. I left it open for more people to submit images later as they find time.

Matt, the corrector was cracked by thermal expansion after I tightened up my correctors' retaining ring screws in minus temperatures, then during a warm day......ouch. Lesson learned. Back off your screws.

Default Bad Light / Good Light

Hello Baz!

Following your link, I visited to your site for your article on Light Pollution.
You have got some good examples from across the globe, of the varying degrees of ambient light in the pictures.

Good initial data for reference. I hope you are able to receive more pictures for comparison. Your requested capture parameters couldn't have been simpler.

I like your observations of the impact LP has on shooting the skies.

It must have been a beautiful adventure for yourself and your son, to share your time on your snow trip. I love his precocious response, that his world (universe)

...cute reference (for absence of our Southern Pole Star).

Pardon me, for taking the liberty to throw in a tangential reference to good light, I am reminded of Paramount's quaint quip...when calling it a day!:

Thank you Baz, for putting it all together.
