Default Moon occults Venus from Ireland

Hi all, I was at home with the flu today, but I got the scope out for a small while and firstly got Venus being occulted by the moon. You can see the gibbous phase in part here...

Then later after 5pm, I shot the reappearance widerfield, I'm glad I did, It was a spectacular sight watch Venus reappear from the bright limb of the Moon through my 15x70mm binoculars. Jupiter can be seen with it's moons top right.

And finally the reappearance just a few minutes later:

Hope you all enjoy the shots, it was a spectacular sight!

Keith..

Congrats Keith, spectacular stuff! I saw it live myself and was really struck by the increase in brightness of the planet as it moved out of the moon's glare! Nice work!

I really like the third one as well, with Venus making the little flare deal'ies.

I am astounded by the first one, however. I considered trying to watch it in broad daylight (Pacific Coast for me), but decided not to as it has been hazy, though not cloudy, most of the week.

That is just really cool, and now I wish I had!

It is also ridunculously awesome that Jupiter's moons show up. I have good binoculars, but have never tried taking a picture through them. Well done, thank you much! (I am debating making one my desktop, but it would require replacing a picture of my nephew if that gives you any idea).
