Default NGC 7814 and lots of friends

NGC 7814 is a neat near edge on galaxy much like M104. Note the dust lane can be seen on the far side of the galaxy as well as the near side. It shows as a "ghost" dust band just to the left of the one on our side of the galaxy. Distant galaxies can be seen through the galaxies core showing it has little dust and gas. There are at ton of interesting objects around the galaxy. Some are interacting, others just strange. There's lot to explore in this image. I'll make a second post showing an annotated version of the field.

Note the smudge above the "north pole" of the galaxy. This is real but I can't find any mention of it anyplace and have no idea if it is a satellite of 7814 or something very different. If anyone knows let me know.

The obvious asteroid above the galaxy is (64856) 2001 YD42 at magnitude 16.2

Beautiful shot, beautiful processing, great commentary.

Wow, what an image.

That's a gorgeous photo, great work. Those background galaxies are pretty fascinating.

An interesting galaxy, and very thin dust lane, your seeing must have been better than usual.

Lots of "other stuff" in the frame too.
