Since most astrophotography is done from a very solid base, where one worries about the vibrations that could come through a cement bad to a pier that is not isolated, a shot from a plane is a long shot.
![]() Pretty to look at but not much of a place to take star photos. Clear skies and good luck next time.

Your logic failed you when it told you your thigh was a steady support.
Your logic failed you when it told you airplane windows are good for photography. Your logic really, REALLY failed you when it told you airliners are steady enough for astrophotography. All things considered, it came out pretty well!

I noticed a long time ago that commercial aircraft passenger windows are set low so as to make it very difficult to look up out of the windows at the sky. I guess most people want to look down.
Also, the optical quality of the plexiglass is poor... |
