Default Lunar Montage

So I decided in late June to take pictures of the next Lunar phases. I missed a few days due to bad weather and I had some exposure and focus issues (thanks to only using a digital camera and binoculars) but overall I'm pleased with the outcome...

Cool!

What spec were you using for those shots? I've now got a 300mm lens, which is allowed me to get some decent "wide" shots of the Moon. Do you use a freestanding camera with a really long lens or did you use an astronomical aid?

I used a pair of Nikon 7x50 binoculars, a Canon Powershot A590 (5.8-23.2mm), and my hands. Very low tech...

Maybe I should give that a go. I'll try it right now. It's early afternoon at the moment, but I'll try to get a view of Heathrow.

Yea it was very finicky, I had to decide on a focus for the binoculars then find the moon in the sights and zoom in with the camera then decide if the focus was right or not. If I wasn't satisfied, I'd start all over.

The mosquitoes didn't help either, it was a rather unpleasant experiment.
