Referred to as the Flying Horse Nebula in a recent book I purchased (The
100 Best Astrophotography Targets by Ruben Kier). Went out on 9/27 with the recently modified Canon 40D with a 200mm f/2.8L lens and a recently acquired Hα filter mounted on CGEM; 80mm Stellarvue Nighthawk II guidescope with SSAG and PHD. Stacked 31 - 210 sec subs @ iso1600 + darks and flats in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3:
Clear skies again the next night (9/28) but gusty winds. Put the Canon 40D on the W.O. flt110 with 0.8x focal reducer and the Hα filter; 80mm Stellarvue Nighthawk II guidescope with SSAG and PHD, all on the CGEM. Got 16 useable subs (5 minutes each) at 3200 iso stacked in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3:
Comments and suggestions appreciated.
