M15 is a large cluster with a very dense core center and within the outer region of the core there is a planetary nebula. This nebula is very difficult to image and to stand out from its star packed area narrow band filters will make it stand out (Ha, OIII).

Efrain, great job teasing that nebula out of the stars.

Thanks Andy, I had to superimpose Hubble and Adam Block images to locate it.
Hi Rick, I tried to image it with Ha but my guiding star would lose it and my LRGB data were already taken, Using the OIII i would have to remove the filterwheel and replace the Ha too much hassle. Maybe next year re-visit and try out the narrow bands to bring out this planetary. Clear Skies. |
