Default Which edition (printing) did I buy?

How can I tell? By the edits or something from the copyright page?

On one of the first left hand pages, actually, the one on the back of the title page. Some books just state which prinitng, and others have a type of "code." What that looks like is it will have a line of numbers: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. I think, the last number is the print run that you got.

Yeah, except the numbers are backward. So if it has

10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2

you have the second printing.

I had a different book in hand with numbers going up, but yeah, in Bad Astronomy, the numbers go backward. Those two schemes are the easiest ones, some are very odd.

Cool. You learn something new every day.

I had no idea what the deal was with 10 9 8 7 ... etc. In this case (10 9 8 7 6 5), it seems I have a copy from the fifth printing.
