They generally do such things for holidays and anniversaries. Do we know why they've done this one?

This links to an article about the Google crop circles. There is a suggestion that it is part of an on-line mystery. Apparently, there is a related Twitter-thing. Also, H.G. Wells has a birthday next week. He would have been 143.

Mugs just started a related thread in BABBling and I just thought of something. He asks what is the silver object in the picture. It is obviously a UFO - Unidentified Flattening Object.

If you're worried about that recent crop circles logo, how are you feeling about today's?

Google is now not only promoting crop circles, it's promoting outright alien invasion!

It's creepy isn't it? This has been happening more and more often in recent times. Subversive takeover bid - they're trying to win our hearts through our beloved google!
More google... means... more love...

...And it just might work.

If you look closely, you'll see it's the same UFOs in both of those graphics! They just have sprouted legs in the second...
Proof that Google is in fact already taken over by aliens and has the design specs!

(I for one welcome our new Alien overlords... *cough* That should put me on their good side when the spider indexes this thread next time, right?)

Not to remove the mystery from it, but if you click on the Google Logo being discussed, it takes you to a page that explains it.

The string of graphics with saucers that is.

Google has admitted that recent UFOs in its logo are designed to mark the 143rd birthday of author HG Wells.

I believe it was Glenn Quagmire that said "The truth will set you free"

I know the truth will set me free. What I want to know, is how much will it set me back?
