Bad Solar System in Sac Bee

My letter to the Editor:

I applaud your article on the discovery of an asteroid by
high school students. The younger generations, as well as the Bee
readership can only benefit from learning about the universe and our place
in it. However, you may have set back that effort several centuries
with the large, colorful graphic showing the planets Mars and Jupiter
orbiting the Earth.
The solar system is not an artistic collage of images, it is a real
place, and it is our home. More than any other facet of nature, our
understanding of celestial mechanics marked the beginning of the
scientific revolution that has transformed humanity.
