Gosgirl, that's what I was saying at first as the OP. But after a page and a half of debate I found the flaw in my reasoning: if you're skeptical in principle, you question all claims consistently. Vaccine, moonlanding and evolution skeptics are very willing to believe poorly founded claims without examining them thoughtfully. That makes them credulous, which is the opposite of skeptical.
Hmmm, gosgirl, what's the idea? You quoted my Post #8 word for word. "I don't see any dictionary definition of "skeptical" that prevents it from being applied to antivaxxers, moon hoaxers and anti-evolutionists.
