Default You Might Be A PAN If...

Well thinking about how our old buddy ONG thinks all we do is sit around talking about how great we are, I thought it wouldn't hurt if we poked a little fun at our selves. So I made up a few jokes along the lines of the old "you might be a redneck if" jokes. Feel free to add your own jokes. And admit it, you've all done one of these at one time or another. :P

When you step off the bottom rung of a ladder you say, "that's one small step for man......" you just might be a pro Apollo nutter.

When you climb out of your friends 4x4 you say, "that may have one small step for Neil, but that was one giant leap for me." You might be a pan.

If in your wallet, instead of your wife and family, you carry the official portraits of all 12 moon walkers, you might be a pan.

If you have a bumber sticker on your car that says, "Jay Utah for President", you might be a pan.

If your living room looks a shrine to Phil Plaitt, you might be a pan.

If every time you hit a golf ball, you yell, "miles and miles and miles," you might be a pan.

If you have been seem frequently in your yard dropping a hammer and a falcon feather, you might be a pan.

If you have to do a 10 second countdown before starting your car, you might be a pan.

If when you start your car you yell, "sequence ignition, lift off, we have a lift off." You might be a pan.

If when you pull out of your driveway you yell, "the tower is clear." You might be a pan.

And you are definantly a pan if, when you are speeding down the ramp to get onto the freeway, you yell, "Houston, we are go for TLI".

YMBAPAN if someone claims that no one remembers the words of the second man on the Moon, and you immediately pipe up with, "Beautiful view - magnificent desolation."

YMBAPAN if you argue about what the real first words from the Moon were.

YMBAPAN if you're Tom Hanks.

YMBAPAN, if you've purchased all the Apollo Mission DVD's from www.spacecraftfilms.com. And no, I haven't bought them all...yet!

YMBAPAN if you have all the Mission Reports from Apogee Books. And, yes, I do (unless there's a new one I haven't got yet).

It isn't often I seem like a rational reasonable person, but this thread is starting to make me look like one.

Must show it to Mrs Bawheid.

You know your kid is a PAN when every day the drawings he did in the kindergarden are:
CSMs, LMs, Saturn Vs, Earth-Moon trajectories...

You know your kid is a PAN when every morning he puts Virtual Apollo into his kindergarden rucksack.

You know your kid is a PAN when a corner in his room looks like this.

YMBAPAN when your kid is a PAN.

Harald

PS: I forgot one: You know your kid is a PAN when he watches an "Indiana Jones" movie and asks, if Indiana Jones is somewhat akin with Eric Jones.

Outstanding Harald =D> =D> =D>

But the HBs will just use the second photo as proof that a Saturn rocket is too small, even for a child.............

The Saturn V is here. Really a wonderful model.

The Saturn-IB is here.
I also did the Mercury-Redstone, Mercury-Atlas and Gemini-Titan from this site. Nice.

The corner of my room looked a lot like that long about 1970 (given what was available at the time).

I guess it was more common that time. Lukas sometimes complains that he seems to be the only one in the kindergarten who is interested in this stuff.

YMBAPAN if you keep saying "Houston, we have a problem" for every problem you face, including when you return from golfing in excellent weather when your wife wanted you to do the dishes and laundry.

YMBAPAN if you buy space and rocketry related books for you children for their birthdays.

YMBAPAN if you want your children to develop the hobby of building model space vehicles.

YMBAPAN if you know the sky better than your own backyard.

YMBAPAN if you can identify constellations better than trees and birds in your own backyard.

I don't know. You could know the sky but be an HBer. You just wouldn't go for the no stars argument.

Why, that's true. Thanks for the insight. However, I hope they don't say that the stars are specks of light on the dome that surrounds the earth. That means "no stars". #-o

YMBAPAN if you can recite from memory the crew of every Apollo mission.

(Extra credit if you can do the same for Gemini.)
